Hi all.
Purchased a 2015 Vanquish over the weekend from an independent dealer.
Dealer is looking into why the Nav doesn't work but not holding my breath at the moment!

Infotainment is working perfectly other than when the NAV button is pressed, the screen goes blank.
If i select another source ie radio, then all is well. Just when the NAV is selected screen goes blank.

Ive looked at the NAV module in the boot and there isn't an SD card inserted.
For £26 on Ebay it looks like i can pick up a 2021 map nav card to suit.

Is it likely this is the issue and would a card not being inserted mean the screen would be blank??

Probably a daft question but cant find anything specific on the net.

Cheers
Craig

My 2015 Vanquish didn’t have an SD card in it when I bought it and the Nav system still worked. I recently purchased a Garmin update SD card which successfully updated the system to the latest maps. Is the GPS antenna connected?

Looks like the GPS module is connected, or at least i think it is. Both ports on the NAV module are being used however both cables disappear towards back seats in a loom. Although the screen is blank with no messages popping up such as 'insert SD card' it is backlit/illuminated.
Tempted to stick any sd card in to see if a message pops up!

Inserting a Nav SD sounds like a low cost option to see if the unit works. Will your independent dealer fix it or are you on your own? The Garmin system is mediocre at best so I finally added an ID Core to my Vanquish so I now can use Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto).

The system should work without an SD card in place. I have a 2016 Vanquish that had no SD card, but had maps from 2013 (!). There's an internal memory that holds maps from the factory.

Thanks dpath/ivr
Ok, It seems like it may be another issue other than the SD card.Hopefully the dealer will assist but doubt it the way things have gone at the moment. Trouble is i love the car and other than this issue really happy with it.
Do you have any further info on the ID Core?
I'll do some googling in the meantime.

The IDCORE unit for Vanquish seems to be not available due to component shortages, according to their dealer Unique Auto Developments.

@yvr
Yes my nearest distributor TTW are not showing the Vanquish fitment as an option.
Will give them a call tomorrow for an update.

Thanks

Will do.
In the meantime if anyone else has any ideas as to a solution that'd be great.

I saw the other thread where you say you were locked out the car. What caused that?

Could there be a wider electrical issue (hopefully not). What condition is the battery in?

The dealer you bought it from needs to have a diagnostic scan done or send the car to someone who can.

Day after i brought the car home the battery was dead.
Car had no emergency key so got the locksmith to get into the car so i could install new battery.
Everything works fine but did report to the dealer the satnav screen was blank when selected as soon they said they reported low voltage to the dealer but he didn't act upon it and neither did he tell me!
Car will likely have to go to Aston once we agree that the dealer will pick up the bill.

There's probably a reset procedure to get the nav working but not for you to concern yourself with at this point. Let the dealer sort it.

Have you purchased an emergency key now? I had to buy one and went via AM Leeds who were the original supplying dealer. Cost me £200 and was a panic buy as I wanted to avoid the situation you found yourself in. A specialist will likely be able to do it much cheaper

Congratulations on your purchase of a fantastic car (niggles aside). Post some photos when you get some time please.

I have the Aston installations Android Auto/Carplay in my 2015, I had it fitted at AM Performance. It's much better than the factory sat nav.
