Hello everybody,

I have been going to Le Mans for the last 18 years (I know, I am a newby) and every year we try to do or see something we havent done before.

I am looking voor reccomendations for actities around the circuit that are not organized by the ACO. We did go to the drivers parade one year, but I thought it was way to crowded.

Is the Classic Britisch Welcome worth the trip, trafic gets so busy on the Friday?

Did any of you go to Hotel de France? is that something you would reccomend?

Are there any othe events that are fun to go to?

I might give the Teloche event on Friday a go this year. Every two years apparently, with a Porsche centric feel with the towns history.

Have a look around circuit village and museum on Friday morning whilst hopefully a bit quieter. Maybe Mulsanne also.

Got pissed off with pit lane access last year. No access from the paddock side like they’ve done for many years. So didn’t bother in the end. It is a mystery to me why they don’t run a one way system to create a natural flow. Access at start finish end (no access down the steps to paddock area from village) then exit into paddock at pit exit end or crowd can continue onto track and other exits.

I found it, but do they organise anything or just the historic site?

We do the museum every three years or so.

Totaly agree, one way would work so much better. The place just gets to crowded. There is a pitwalk on tuesday, we will geve that a try this year.

Are there any details on the event at Teloché?

I have never been and might be something different to do on the Friday

Yes. Although it is a bit of a trek so you need to commit to it being a 'day out'.

Otherwise, it is well worth heading into Le Mans city centre and hanging out in a bar/restaurant/etc.

Hotel de France at La Chartre-sur-le-Loir is a nice place to visit and chill out. We met Derek Bell there a few years ago outside, albeit a Classic Le Mans trip.

Great British Welcome is well worth the trip as is the Museum of course.

We did the drivers parade last year and won't be doing it again this year, too busy and a drawn out affair.

Depends what you expect/how you treat it. For me it's an excuse to have a nice lunch/some cold beer/a nice dinner. Oh and I hear there's a parade of some sort too.

Great British Welcome - can it be got to by public transport? Failing that, is there a sensible place and time to thumb a lift? Thanks. J
(travelling in mate's camper and don't think he'll want to move it once it's in BSJ.)

Seems relatively small event, slightly under the radar compared to some of the others.

Porsche focused for obvious reasons by the looks of it.

Appears this garage will be dressed a bit to what it was like when factory Porsche team was using it. (Find it crazy they used work on cars off circuit and drive them there)

Gathering of cars appears to be in the car park ‘behind’ where the garage is.

Going to give it a go for something different. And works for us heading back south to Le Flèche.

Done… circuit village, Mulsanne and then Teloche and then a nice dinner will be our Friday.

Tuesday used to be a pleasure - by 2023 was heaving but do-able (missed 2024.)
We usually do Ruaudin on the Tuesday as well - some interesting cars out on show. And the circuit walk/cycle on Friday (which also forces a stumble over the Mulsanne display.

Hotel De France is 40-45 mins or less from Tertre Rouge - dual carriageway east for 1.5km then straight off and down D304 great road -
so 2 1/2 to 3 hr trip - bit longer if have lunch down there at square. Well worth trip to see where DBR1's, GT40's & 917 were prepared and driven in from
