My e-bike has Tektro HD-R510 brakes and to be honest it is the main thing on the bike I dislike. I don't like the feel, the modulation or the bite.

Can anyone recommend a decent upgrade? I have 160mm rotors, not sure if I have to change them as well.

I want something that I do not have to reach for and that I can operate with one finger - I would rather not add more weight.

Ebikes are usually pretty heavy, so go for something with 4 piston callipers. I am a big fan of Shimano, wife has Shimano MT520 4-Piston on her ebike and I have Shimano Saints (although I do DH so these are quite expensive). Also upgrading to 180mm would also make a big difference to stopping power.

Agreed with the above, I've just swapped my Tektro's for Shimano 4 pots and it's a world of difference.
Also went from 160 rotors to 200 up front and 180 rear. You'll have to check your frame can accept bigger rotors, but going up to 180 should be fine.

Thanks for the replies.

It seems more complex than I thought as there might be incompatibility issues with the Shimanos - also the 4 pot MT520 seems to add a fair bit of weight as well.

Willing to pay up to about £250 including fitting for something suitable.
