In reverse order...

Runner up Number 3

I like this shot due to its oddity but feel it could maybe have been enhanced in photoshop to make it more striking

Runners up Number 2 ( Sorry you will have to share the honours

I like this because of the oddity of the texture, plus it is a really nicely taken photo.

And also 406's God in the clouds shot, because it is odd, but the winner just has the edge for me

And the winner is.... Prof Higgins

I just love this as a stand alone image and the photoshop work enhances it, it would be interesting to see the original to compare it with

Sorry Joust, better luck next time, btw I loved the pipes shot

Also I really liked GetCarters Geese/duck? shot and tracksides chicken and dogs water bowl shot

that covers most people right?

If it is possible to have a copy of that pic, I'd really really like one in my home.

Well done Prof, fantastic photo.

aww shucks... thanks Mrs F! Trust me, I had a go at enhancing it but I just couldn't seem to do anything with it, so messed about with levels and posted it up.

resizing for the forum didn't help either, as there's a bit more on the sign which makes it slightly more amusing:

A worthy winner, one of my favourites.

Personally I like a bit of 'Shopping' if appropriate, but am now nervous to do it because the judge one month said they didn't like it, or it was unfair as not everyone could do it, or it was too arty. So as the judge and therefore the goalposts move each month it's a bit tricky.

Absolutly brilliant shot and thoroughly deserved

As Simpo says - can we 'shop'?

I can't, so at a disadvantage of sorts

I suppose I've just got to spend that bit more time on THE image (whatever it happens to be).

Gosh what can I say.....

Truly gobsmacked.

Unfortunately there was indeed a bit of photoshopping needed as original image was a soft, taken from some distance away so think it is a bit of movement from use of long lens with no tripod, should have really gone up and iso setting or two to get a better shutter speed but did not realise until I got back to a pc (family were giving me grief to get a move on as well!!!), also really overcast day so very flat and needed a boost, always knew there was going to be a nice image in there somewhere though.

Anyway original is here for those that are interested, would love to see any variations if anyonce fancies a play, my photoshopping skills are limited to say the least, just play around until something works normally :

Higher res of my photoshopped version here for chim_girl (flattered beyond belief ) :

and finally just for a bit of fun thought I would share an alternative that I nearly threw in but thought it was a bit over the top on the post processing:

Gosh have to think up a theme for October now..... give me a few hours and I will post up new topic.

Thanks to all - Sinclair
