Not a member of any other forums so looking to try and settle a debate/gather some general consensus here….

Do you sign a greetings card (be it birthday, wedding, condolence etc etc) from you and your other half, or just you? (To someone your partner doesn’t know)

For context - other half sent a wedding card to one of her friends, not a close friend, nor someone that I know, and just signed it from herself. I found it a bit odd, she didn’t seem to agree as “I don’t know the recipients”

I think that's odd.

Not only do cards have to be from both of us, but we each have to write our own name - which I also think is odd, but just do as I'm told!

If its to somebody we both know then we both have our names on it.

If its to somebody we dont both know then probably just the name of the person who knows them.

Hmmm, odd one.

We've been together so long that there's few people in a social context that one of us knows that the other doesn't.

But if I was sending a card to someone she had never met and didn't know, I'd sign it solo and I expect vice versa.

I thought the thread was going to be about do you still send cards now that the price of them and the price of a stamp is just ridiculous.

Predominantly m wifes domain because I mostly don't bother sending cards anymore but I suspect my wife would list the whole family right down to the cat.

It wasn't until fairly recently (I'm in my 50's) that I learnt that women actually read the verse inside the card. I didn't think anyone read that, I know blokes don't. Now when choosing a card for the wife I have to read the verse first to see if it's appropriate, which they never are. Thankfully lots of cards nowadays are completely blank inside, which is pretty much how I feel about the wife sometimes!!
