Evora owners near Glasgow
Discussion
This is a bit of a cheeky one.
I'm very interested in getting an Evora, probably an S as my budget is around £35k. My "want" is based purely on how the car looks on paper. The right power, weight, drive etc and the glowing reviews. I've never sat in one let alone driven one. In fact, I think I've only ever seen 2 and I have never seen one for sale within a reasonable distance of me. This means I'd probably be doing a distance purchase. This is something I'm fine with.
Now the point of the post. Is there anyone near Glasgow that would let me have a look around their car. Let me have a sit in it? My concern is getting in and out with my dodgy knee, limited space, comments about materials. So it would just be nice to see one before taking a distance punt.
Thank you.

Why don't you pop down to Parks in Hamilton. They are the only official Lotus place in Scotland.
Whilst they might not have an Evora (they occasionally do) for sale right now, for size wise, you could try one of their Emiras ? Pretty similar.
I went there to try the exige and evora (and I'm not exactly big) for size. Exige No. Evora Yes.
Good luck.

Try posting again on TLF, The Lotus Forum. There are quite a few West Coast based Evoras, one chap I know in particular has a lovely S and is very helpful and knowledgeable all things Evora.
I'm East Coast, and a have a NA SR. Both TLF and The Lotus Drivers Club are active with meets and events in the Central Belt. A recent LDC meet in Falkirk had 4 Evoras amongst lots of lovely Lotus and other marques.

Also try LEGS or Scottish Elises albeit the forum is sadly not as busy as it used to be.
Unfortunately you missed a Lotus/LEGS meet (with Lotus/Alpine) last weekend as mentioned above. Would have given you an opportunity to ask questions of some owners.
Unfortunately I sold my Evora a while back otherwise would have been happy to help you out

I'm in Crieff if you fancy a look at my 2013 S at all.
The later 400 cars have narrower sills (as does the Emira) so if it is an S1 car you are looking at, it would be worth trying to climb into an S1 car if you can. I find the seats the comfiest I have ever owned.
Give me a shout if I can be of help. No plans to be in Glasgow at the moment unfortunately but I'm only an hour away.
I'm on TLF with the same user name too. Very helpful forum.

Given I work for PKC, and my 400 is my daily, I drive to Perth a couple of days a week, and have a big project site in Comrie. I've driven across via Crieff to visit it. Some nice driving roads round that way.The later 400 cars have narrower sills (as does the Emira) so if it is an S1 car you are looking at, it would be worth trying to climb into an S1 car if you can. I don't pass many Lotus around here although I did manage to see an Emira, an Exige and an Esprit in one day recently. I'll keep an eye out for a White Evora.

Ooh I haven’t been on PH for ages.
2014 EvoraS here. Standard apart from 2bular manifolds & sports cat. I’m out towards the west of Glasgow.
You’re welcome to have a test-seat / get a run up the road etc if it would help your decision.
Thank you everyone for the kind offers and helpful info regarding TLF and potential meets.2014 EvoraS here. Standard apart from 2bular manifolds & sports cat. I’m out towards the west of Glasgow.

I'm also west of Glasgow so will send you a message mik_ok.
I'm going to avoid looking at a 400 as I know I'll end up wanting one and have to save a bit more.
