Tuscan S v. Lambo Murcielago
Discussion
Not sure whether I should post this here or on the Lambo forum as a "spotted" - but on reflection I guess it would be better appreciated here!
This was one of those moments in your Tuscan that you pray for......
Saturday morning, just tooling around (having been to the TVR Centre to see the lovely new Tusc Convert)and I see in the distance a fabulous lime green Murcialago (probably a well-known one judging by the distinctive number plate - vr**m, vr**m!). I catch him up at the roundabout and I'm right behind him. He sees me in his mirror, exits the roundabout and in the correct spirit of things boots it big time.
1st, 2nd and I'm still right behind him and he's not pulling away. Change up light comes on hard and its up into 3rd - its obvious he's in this for real and really trying - the engine note is amazing. Just about to grab 4th when the unbelievable happens - I'm suddenly gaining on him and have to LIFT otherwise I'm sharing his engine compartment with the V12!!
Just then my turn-off comes up so I pull alongside and wave goodbye before things get too silly (phew).
God knows what this all must have sounded like from the outside - a Murci and Tusc S both in full cry is not for the faint-hearted.
Just a few moments fun I know, but its moments like this that remind us (if ever we needed reminding) what great cars and engines we have in TVR's. And it serves as another poke in the eye for the knockers (no, not a mixed metaphor - knockers as in those who criticise!).
It also makes me wonder what my car would be capable of when its run in (oops !!).
If you're reading this Lambo man, then no gloating is intended - you still have the most fabulous car this planet has ever seen!!

Don't post anything like this on the Chim forum though - you'll get accused of getting your penis out!
Someone mentioned 'Tuscan' and 'Murcielago' in the same sentence, I already did............

Yep, those occasions rarely present themselves, but when they do, awesome! Here is an account of an encounter I had with a fezza a while back. www.petrolheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=125038
He lifted after third
Running in too?! naughty naughty!! (I would delete that comment if I were you)
Any of the modern non-soft top TVR's will keep up with a Murci until forth gear, after that - 570bhp starts to show - see all Vmax results (past and present) for proof. Good effort all the same

the Tuscan will sound like a bag of spanners in a few 1,000 miles
Well funnily enough I was showing my Sagaris to somebody from Lamborghini recently. We discussed reliability and we also discussed 0-60 times. Both cars will achieve 60 in under 4 seconds if given a brutal enough start. He commented that although a Murcielago is capable of reaching 60 as fast as the Sagaris, it would probably only do so once.
I'd still rather like one though!
