Am I a victim of marketing or are they actually good? Need a whole new setup for the new house, if not, any suggestions? I do enjoy cooking.

Probably belongs in the food section.

Overpriced for what they are. If you know how to use various pans and take care of pans then a waste of money. If you enjoy cooking then just learn how to use different pans, and what's good for what.

Alternative view.

I have a couple, they work very well and I have so far completely failed to destroy them.

Expensive, yes. But so far (18 months of regular use) I am happy.

Was there not a suggestion re cancer causing toxins or suchlike ?

I also like cooking, use a lot of cast pans, and pans from John Lewis. They do what they need to for a fraction of the price .

There is proven health risk with PFOAs used in the production of PTFE (Teflon) but not PTFE itself. Plus PFOAs haven't been used in years.

Its a bit like the "risk" of aluminium pans and Alzheimer's.

I just kept finding conflicting information about them. Half the people would say they’re the best pans in the world ever. The others say they’re made in China and contain a coating that harbours ‘forever chemicals’.

In the end I bought handmade English stainless steel pans from Samuel Groves and they’ve been brilliant.

We're very happy with our now decade old Le Crueset stainless steel saucepans, however I am tempted to get the Our Place Always Pan Pro as I'm fed up of having to constantly 'manage' the carbon steel frying pan we have.

You'll note that all these suggestions etc come from America where they claim you get cancer from just looking out the window
