I’m currently holidaying in Lake Garda and have a boat hired for Thursday, any must visit places where we can moor? It’s quite a fast boat and we have it all day so can get about, we collect it from Sirmione if that makes any difference.

I would just enjoy the boat and use it.
Stop for the occasional swim, take a decent picnic etc...
You can visit the other towns using the regular passenger boat services.

Definitely take the boat to Salo. Plenty of mooring and a really rather beautiful town, lots of bars, restaurants and shops and places to chill ..

Opposite Sirmione - there is a bay to the left of the Salo bay which has a great floating bar/shop.

Head to Porto di San Felice from Sirmione, and you will find him - Great for a cold beer and a toasted sandwich, and reasonably priced. You might hear him first as he loves his music.

Fuel - I never take the option to bring it back full, take the buy out option - trying to find the fuel stations is a bind you don't need.

From here go into Salo, via Isola del Garda, this is an island with beautiful, huge Villa on it. We usually stop here a swim, but be careful as it can be very deep, so hold onto your anchor if you try top drop it. Floating ice-cream bar shop here too.

I'm always amazed how big the lake is, so don't be concerned with getting all the way around it - You won't make it up to Riva, as past Limone is closed for wind surfers and sail boats.

I'd stick to the bottom of the lake, there is plenty to do - moor up at Salo, Garda or Pesciera and go for a drink, but it's a bit of a waste of the boat unless you have it all day.

Enjoy.
