I was wandering around under my car today (it was up on the ramp for MOT, which it passed:D) and I found two wires which had frayed through the insulation.
They had each worn in no less than three places within a six-inch run, one of them was down to only two strands of copper. I'm guessing it happened because of the way the extra length of wire was bundled up and then strapped to the chassis with cable ties.
They were nothing important mind. Just one of the fuel pumps and the starter inhibitor switch. No doubt they'd have failed after the first snow, in a car park, late at night and miles from anywhere.
