Hi all, long time lurker haven't posted before.

Never been to Le Mans before, but decided this is the year with Astons and Ferraris in the brilliant looking hypecar field. Was all set to chuck a one man tent on the bike and head down when my 13 year old daughter said she'd love to come.

This is great. She is good company and loves all things petrol, but does cramp my style a bit. We will be travelling by car now, but all the parking and camping at the circuit seems to be booked up with only general admission tickets remaining.

If it was me I'd just rough it for one night and book a hotel for the Sunday night but this isn't really feasible with a 13 year old girl so I'm wondering what the options are.

From what I've found they seem to be:

1. Park a bit away from the circuit and either shuttle bus or walk, maybe get some sleep in the car.

2. Get a hotel miles away, write off the small hours bit and forego beer.

3. Bring a tent and hope someone doesn't turn up or we can squeeze it in somewhere.

Obviously all with pluses and minuses. She's a great kid and fine with camping and a bit of a hike, but still a 13 year old girl, so I'd rather have some sort of a plan in place than just risk it as I would on my own. I'm probably leaning towards getting a hotel miles away on the assumption that we'll be raced out by late evening anyway and ready for a good night's sleep, with plenty of racing still to go on the Sunday. However if you think I've missed something then do let me know.

Thanks in advance

Camping tickets being resold on here (first thread on the LeMans page) and the official ACO site, but you have to act quickly as they get snapped up fast.
There also may be some still available from the private operators eg PH/1st Tickets, Team Langoustin etc, whose more civilised campsites, better loos & showers, and catering may be more appropriate for your (her) situation.
I don't think you'll be able to just 'squeeze in' anywhere, as first you'd have to access the campsites past the ticket checkers.

As the previous poster said loads of tickets + camping come up here, just give it a few days at most.

Be ready for a potentially noisy experience on any public camp site and your 13 year old might see some interesting goings on. Tell her to start practicing sleeping with earplugs inside ear defenders. I took my then 14 year old son a few years back and all in all he did have an amazing time.
