Call my cynical but I suspect the fact there has been a threefold increase in athletes being granted exemptions to take ADHD drugs is due to cheating not actual medical need.

"Data obtained by Telegraph Sport shows there has been a more-than threefold increase in just five years in the number of therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) granted at national level for athletes diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. There has also been a more-than fourfold rise in the number of TUE applications during the same period (2019-24).

You only need to look at the rates of Asthma in athletes compared to the general public to know they're cheating.

Can't possibly imagine what they stand to gain from taking drugs that open up your airways.

You're cynical. Everyman and their dog is being diagnosed with ADHD.

In the general population the number of people taking ADHD medication has increased way more than 3x.

Little wonder there is a dire shortage of meds for genuine sufferers of ADHD
My grandson has not had his meds for around 3 weeks , and manufacturers are out of stock with no sign as to when supplies will be back to normal
He is training to be a motorcycle tech and is struggling to retain his concentration

If you devise rules with clear exceptions then people will eventually work out how to claim that exception. It happens in all walks of life.
