Ours is a bit knackered now so would like to replace it.
Costco have some but not keen on fibreglass - would prefer metal.

Any recommendations?

Werner stuff is decent quality, how high do you need to go? Their adjustable pro work platform is a decent piece of kit and better than steps for working off.

Try one of these

Not the cheapest but meant to be good; I haven't got one.

As above, a Werner platform can be very useful. The extending type gets you pretty high and helpful if working over a wide span. I recently bought one of these as needed to reach some high ceilings. Also easy to transport with seats folded down in a hatchback

Current one is half a dozen steps. Mostly used for gardening - trimming the top of hedges, reaching up to trees to cut dead branches off - that kind of thing.

I have a 'normal' 3 part ladder for really high stuff if needed

We got fed up with a succession of wobbly cheap step ladders a while ago, I ordered one of these: Lyte step ladder. SWMBO was a bit unsure about the cost until she started using it for painting walls/ceilings in the house, and now she thinks it was money well spent. Much more stable and comfortable than the usual cheap ones sold for home/DIY.

When I wanted new steps I looked around at any building sites to see what they were all using. Invariably they all had either Werner or Youngman (both owner by the same company I believe). I chose a Youngman from Screwfix because it had a deal available but they are largely all branded Werner now.

Best and most stable steps I have ever had.

Little giant ladder for the win. I have 3 different ones and all are very useful. Not cheap, but safety first.
