Anyone been?

Went along to the London one yesterday and have to say, rather enjoyed the experience and oddly for anything connected officially to F1, quite good value.

Was a mate's 60th. Went for the VIP '3' package which cost £109 and gives you a semi-private area (just three booths) your own sims, viewing screen plus endless food (which was very good - particularly the truffle mac and cheese things) and drinks (wine, beer and soft drinks). Nice vibe too!

They didn't have any yesterday but they occasionally have the odd F1 'celeb' there on race days.

Have been to the London one and the Birmingham one, like you I thought it was pretty good value and a good laugh, the sims are pretty good as well, even my non racing/F1 friends enjoyed it as well.

I've been to the one in London. It was a bit underwhelming particularly for the price. Simulators don't offer much feedback and the screens aren't that big; it felt a bit to close to when a dedicated gamer would have at home rather than an F1 experience. I think they missed an opportunity to get some really great simulators in there, maybe even a couple of fully on hydraulic ones at a premium. Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend to friends; says it all really frown

The good lady took me to the one in Birmingham for their Brazil race 'watch party' as part of my birthday celebrations last year.

It was a great idea ruined by them not limiting tickets.

It was overcrowded, with not enough seating, and difficult to get on the sim racers due to the numbers. If the 'party' was free, or a nominal fee, then you'd accept the overcrowding ... but when tickets were 30 quid or so, it felt unreasonable to not be able to sit down, and for there not to be enough sim rigs to keep the wait times to play acceptable.

I get that they're a business, and will stuff in as many people as they're allowed to at £30 a head ... but it really did impact the customer experience. I might as well have been at any old sports bar that was showing the F1, and saved us the entry fees.

I would go to the arcade again, but not for one of their 'watch party' events.

Popularity ebbs and flows according the race, I'm told. Some weekends are busier than others.

If you go again, hoover up some mates and go for the VIP areas. These appeared much better managed in terms of numbers and sim access. Plus the food and booze just keeps on coming!! smile
