I took my 997 along to The Motorist in Sherburn yesterday lunchtime, just for a drive really.
I was about to leave in time to watch the F1 race when these beauties turned up.
Wow!

The RS 2.7 is for sale, just a cool £500k! The guy has owned it 20 years.
The Daytona is a 37k mile unrestored example, I had never seen either in the metal before, then they parked back to back.

Yes, the Aceaca was lovely, as was the original Cobra, loads of old Astons, 2 Bentley Blowers, a dino gt4, a Lotus cortina mark 1 etc etc.

That “Cobra” is a fibreglass RAM replica with a Chevrolet engine.

I think that Aceaca might be the one that Mathewsons tried to sell a while back, and it never got close to reserve? Owned at the time by a couple in their 80's, who had owned it since the 80's IIRC.

Is that the one that got restored on CAR SOS?

Wow!

My brother lives in nearby South Milford & I've seen that Aston filling up at the BP in the past. I was with him last weekend & saw a DB2 Volante (Sat pm) that might've been at the same meet/local.

Cool selection of cars. He's mentioned going to The Motorist in the future.

No idea, but I wouldn't have thought so, given the old couple were trying to sell at Mathewsons only about 18 months ago, and it was in need of restoration then. It appeared as a no-sale again a few months later at another auction house, so I guess it dawned on the couple it wasn't going to sell for what they thought it would, and it later did sell for a realistic sum.

No, the one on SOS was the only TR engined prototype that AC tried out but discarded, probably because the engine felt a bit rough after the current straight six engines.
