To use the mod, players need to have their own installation of the original game—either the 1993 floppy, 1994 CD, 1998 Windows Edition or the GOG/Steam versions—and install the mod on top.

Wow that brings back memories. Sadly I don’t think I’ve kept the original game.

Looks fab, but why not just get a copy of StarWars Squadrons? Pretty sure EA even gave it out for free at one point. Plays essentially like X-wing/Tie fighter.

I made through the (pretty well done) campaign of SW Squadrons but the annoying flight model and silly restrictions on rebinding controls meant I didn't bother with the multiplayer.

Will have to check out this mod as I've many positive memories of the old games.

Still got my original boxed copy, although for some ridiculous reason they don't fit 3.5 inch floppy drives as standard any more.

I never played X-Wing, but I played Tie Fighter back in the 90s. I last played it out of nostalgia in something like 2015 and it was really hard frown I don't think I have the patience for these unforgiving games anymore. I was playing the original Wing Commander around Christmas time as I set up my old Pentium 2 / 3D Banshee PC and got quite a way through it before getting stuck and giving up.

Pretty sure mine is in the loft too. I didn’t buy many PC games but that was a good one.
