had my first 2 fillings at 52 years old , dentist suggested i try some high fluoride toothpaste in 50ml tubes to give my enamel a boost

google suggests it does work but doesn't mention how long for

i wanted to ask after using a tube can you swap back to off the shelf toothpaste and maintain the increased mineralisation or do i need to keep up contant use , or maybe top ups once a week or something

its rather expensive at £9.90 per prescription to use 3x a day

Yes, Duraphat 5000. You have to use it continuously I'm afraid. And don't rinse at the end of brushing. Fortunately, now I'm o/60 it's free for me.

As above.

My dentist puts 6 x tubes on the prescription so they last a while before I need to pay again - you could ask them to up the number on your script
