Tyre alternatives?

My T350 came with Goodyear F1's, I have had F1's before and i found them very wallowy and sloppy, so i was hoping the T350 might be a bit different on them, unfortunately not.

Does anybody use any other tyre that is comparable in performance/wear/grip, but doesn't make the car feel like a barge(IMO).... Pirelli P-Zero? Yoko's? Bridgestone's? Anything else?

I'm not after trackday tyres, but road/sports tyres for the car which i use everyday to commute etc

We've got Toyo Proxes on our Griff, much better than the Bridgestones that were on it. Toyo also donated gifts for both the BBWF and Growl raffles, in the case of the Growl, without being asked.

So that's a big from me.

I have to be honest, I have Eagle F1 GSD3s all round on my T350, and have no problem with it at all. It certainly doesn't handle "like a barge"

However, I had Toyo Proxes (both T1-S and T1-R) on my Chim, and found them to be excellent. I don't know what the Toyos would be like at lower profiles though.

The Toyo T1-S TVR tuned tyre (which is probably the tyre the concensus have experienced) is terrific on the car, but increasingly hard to come by. We'd be very surprised if the tyre itself was the cause of your complaint - what geometry set-up and pressures are you running? There were some major changes to the factory specs within the last 12 months so you may, at best, have the old settings which won't help (at worst you might have had old setting that have gone out of adjustment and even further away from the "current" spec).

One thing I've just remembered, I found the T350 quite "twitchy" when I first got it, and the tyres were at the handbook setting of 28 all round. Speaking to my dealer (Peninsula), they recommended 22 front, 24 rear (measured when the tyres are cold). This, I've found, resolves the twitchyness, and I'm more than happy with the resulting handling...

Interesting, I think the hanbook for the Tamora says 24 PSI all round.

Interesting indeed. I can't check the T350 handbook, as its in the T350, which is at Peninsula but I'm sure it says 28 all round. made the car very "hard" and twitchy. Much better at 22F, 24R (when cold)

There were a couple of items needing attention after the service, but they didn't have bits in stock. So, its back with them to get them done.
One of the rear drive shaft boots is split, the drivers headlight needs re-sealing, the alternator "jack shaft" needs a new seal, and the targa panel seals are due to be replaced with some newer better stuff if that has arrived in stock. They're also gonna have a look to see what might be causing very slight pinking at 6-7k which is still there after the service.
We'll be picking it up on Sunday morning, around 8.30 ish, as I'm marshalling the FF1600 Carnival raceday at Castle Combe on saturday, where the Tuscans will be joining the Castle Combe Special GT race again, if I remember correctly

My T350 has Toyo's on it and there are definately not wallowy.. get tyre : I recomend them
