I had a thread years ago but can't find it anymore, however the circumstances are slightly different:

My wife was born to a French mother and British father, in the UK. We thought they had lost their Livret de Famille but now it's found again.

Her parent's marriage is in it, and looks like it was transcribed into the French register at the consulate in London.

Her birth is in it, and looks like it was transcribed into the French register in the consulate in Edinburgh.

So there are French records showing she is a citizen.

I've looked on a few guidance websites but between the language barrier and the Crystal Maze-style bureaucracy it's not clear what happens next.

What does she need to do/provide to get a French passport?

Ah great thank you - now we know she’s on the register it’s just UK passport, proof of address and a photo. And a trip to London, from Glasgow, but I’m sure we can manage that. smile

As you're in Scotland it may be worth contacting the Edinburgh consulate to see if they can assist before booking an appointment in London.
