Long time lurker, having originally signed up to get notifications of cars for sale.
I've never had a V8 and fancy one before I go electric. I only do 5-6K miles a year and not concerned about low MPG from a V8.
- Needs to be a 4 seater as a minimum, no 2 seaters.
- Prefer 4/5 door but could live with a 2 door coupe
- Not worried about post 2006 high tax rates
- Will have contingency fund to deal with most issues
- £10K max
I realise I'm at the low end of the market and the potential for problems is high.
I've got my eye on a E500 twin turbo coupe. Are they better than the NA E500s?
There are loads of £5-6K S5s for sale which are tempting. Leaves me some money left over to buy an Aygo when it self destructs.
Any other suggestions?

not sure if a Monaro sneaks in at that price point but if so there's a lot to recommend it (mechanically simple) albeit with some concerns about body-panel replacements if damaged.
MGZT260. Again very simple mechanically speaking with a lovely noise and generally a nice place to be in
Totally left-field F150 Harley Davidson pick-up truck (supercharged, 380hp). Big, crude, obnoxious (in some people's eyes) but a whole lot of sideways fun

When I asked this question to myself a couple of years ago I ended up an a XFR. Stupidly quick and surprisingly reliable. Better value than any of the German equivalents.
And far more fun/character as well. If i was signing off from ICE with a £10k budget I'd struggle to find anything better. With your funds I place for issues, how about a Quattroporte?
Lovely sound, and this has the ZF gearbox instead of the duo select.

I had a similar era Gran Turismo and didn't have any issues until a lorry reversed into it. Also that was a genuine 4 seater .

Glorious. I see early GT's are also getting down toward the £10k mark.Lovely sound, and this has the ZF gearbox instead of the duo select.

A little more for this one, but what a ridiculous amount of car for £13.5k
