48 hours in Tokyo
Discussion
Use the underground to move around and take your pick from the folllowing suggestions:
- Tokyo Skytree Observatory and get blown away by how big and packed Tokyo is
- Asakusa area for the Senso-Ji temple, and a nice place to wander round in the evening.
- Shinshibashi area for the Godzilla hotel, Yodabashi electrics store, 3D cat screen, evening light show at the Tokyo Government building
- Shinjuku area for the famous crossing, and general sensory overload
This is just the tip of the iceberg. We spent 8 days in Tokyo and barely scratched the surface.

Personally I wouldn’t do the skytree, I would do the Shibuya Sky instead. Skytree is substantially taller but also quite a bit out of the main hustle and bustle, whereas the Shibuya Sky is right in the middle of it. With the added benefit of if you only have 48 hours then you won’t waste time travelling as I assume you will be doing the Shibuya area anyway.
View from Shibuya Sky

A few really nice shrines to look at, for me the Imperial Palace is always a disappointment as it is always closed.
Seeing as we are Pistonheads you could always contact these wonderful people and see if they are happy for you to have a look around their show room. About 20 mins away from Shibuya area. https://bingosportsworld.com/items/ You would struggle to find many better Hyper car dealers.

The crossing is Shibuya and the Godzilla and 3D cat is Shinjuku from memory. Might want to check the above or may be very disappointed/confused. - Tokyo Skytree Observatory and get blown away by how big and packed Tokyo is

I've never done it but seen it a few times, looks amazing - especially the ones in Mario kart costumes.
Nintendo got a little bit legal so you can't do Mario outfits anymore but we had a choice of various superheroes and animated characters. We were both minions. It's an amazing experience to be in with the traffic and see the city from the middle of the road. So many locals wave and give you a beep in a good way. We had a couple of Evos join us in convoy for a bit and they were snapping loads of pics. Great fun. Edit to add we went with Street Kart Akhibara

If you re still near Shibuya and looking for dinner I can massively recommend Kushiyaki Bistro Fukumimi Shibuya.
It is a BBQ Yakitory place. Very intimate, very good and very cheap.
