I learned something new today. Whilst looking at a display LHD Corevette convertible, I was talking go the sales girl who informed me that they had just taken delivery of official GM RHD Corvettes and they should be released for sale "any day now".

Everything I have always (and still) read, has always said LHD only.

Whilst I am not doubting her in the slightest (OK, maybe a little) why have GM not been shouting that the new Vette is to be RHD and not LHD only as stated in all reviews I have read?

Are these really GM factory RHD versions??

All Corvettes are manufactured as LHD.

Never believe a word any sales person tells you ! While I was looking into buying my Vette I salesmen tell me that the engine was a 32-valve unit based on the Cadillac Northstar, that all the radios had RDS, that they didn't have any manual gearbox Corvettes in the country because no-one wanted them, that the FE1 suspension was good enough for anyone and that the Z51 option was superfluous etc. etc.

Kinda thought as much. Shame tho. I specifically said, "Are they official RHD cars, or convertions?". Her reply was emphatically, "They are official RHD cars".

The convertible she was stading next to was an LHD version 6.0 in red, with a price tag of £54k. Ouch!

Cheers for clearing that one up.

The only ones I've ever heard of are not too good mods to comply with Australian regs.

I'd be surprised!
