Evening. I'm on Holiday, on my own, in Majorca, for another 2 weeks or so. 4, 5 days ago I started feeling lightheaded, giddy. Standing still made me feel uneasy. I went to a Private Clinic where they took blood, urine and a chest x-ray. All came back fine, no problem. They gave me a prescription for Polaramine. I started the 1 a day pill this morning. I started feeling better but not 100%. Now it's early evening and I've started feeling lightheaded again.

I've been under a lot of stress recently.

Any thoughts?

Simon.

Feeling dizzy via stress is common...

Try abd have some lazy, easy days and wind down.

If you can, drink peppermint tea as its good for calming. Stay off caffeine and alcohol for a few days too

Been there / done that / still doing it

Been under immense stress since mid March. Came away to relax but things going on mean I'm still stressed over here. Going to have a very lazy day tomorrow.

Dizzy (spinning sensation) might be ear-related, any signs of ear infection?
Light-headed (feeling faint) might be low blood pressure, blood sugar, dehydration or too much sun.

Nope, no ear problems, not been out in the sun and all tests show bloods, pressure, sugar levels are fine.

Might be a long shot but see it you can source some A Vogel Avenacalm drops - they work well.

As does valerian tea

I'm thinking, as I haven't eaten that healthy over here, that I might grab some fresh fruit tomorrow.

Maybe when you're concentrating on something, like a health appointment, you're distracted from whatever is troubling you and therefore feel less anxious. Left to your own devices, the anxiety returns and messes with your levels. Ever tried any mindfulness techniques?

Dehydration.
Are you drinking enough?
Average size man needs at least 2litres or more. 3litres if your active and its hot.

I'd get out in the sun. Just keep hydrated and don't stay out too long.

Sun has many health benefits, just have to be sensible with it and not get burnt.

Coincidentally my eldest and I both suffer with this. Eldest has a bought come on last few days.

I also suffer BPPV and now recognise this. An Epley manoeuvre resets mine. Worth googling and trying maybe.

Evening. Update. I think I've worked out what's causing this. Posture. Got up this morning and felt fine but after a while the dizziness returned. For some reason I noticed I was sat with my shoulders really hunched up, neck was really stiff as well. So, I relaxed shoulders, loosened neck and slowly the dizziness started to go. I kept having to do this as I kept finding shoulders doing the same thing! Whether I was doing this because of stress or not I have no idea and I'm still not 100% but I'm hell of a lot better. I guess it's going to take more than a day to undo 4 days of whatever's been going on.

Hopefully I'll be 100% soon. Thank God. Been scared to death!

Thanks for all the help, really appreciate it.

Simon.

Tell your GP friend they're wrong.

Vertigo, meniere disease or just simply ear wax.
If you can find a pharmacist and ask about migraleve.
