After a good Spanish GP we’re moving to Canada and another classic circuit. Max will need to be on his best behaviour for the next 2 rounds and there are plenty of opportunities for contact at the Circuit Gilles Villenueve…. no surprise Red Bull has applied for a super-license exemption for Lindblad.
McLaren must be favorite for the win again, as the tyres are the super softs that McLaren can get to work. Norris is pretty handy around here and gets my vote, but Verstappen and Piastri will be right there. Hamilton needs a better weekend.
Timings are pretty rough for Channel 4 viewers with the time difference, but C4 is also showing replays the following morning.
Here’s to a great race.
Date(s): Friday 13 June to Sunday 15 June 2025.
UK Broadcast Timings (and track time)
All sessions are live on Sky F1. Channel 4 is showing highlights of Qualifying and the Race.

2024 Highlights: wet / dry race.

Tyres:
Softest compounds C4-C6

2024 Result: (Max win)

Cheers for getting all the data stuff and starting the thread.
Really like Canada, partly because 2011 was so fantastic.
I reckon Piastri will continue his strong form. After Verstappen he's been the most impressive qualifier this year and has a better car. Norris has the pace to cause problems but seems to fluff his chances too much.

Thanks PiaP
I've gone for Oscar - but although he's not British, I feel I now want him to win the WDC more so than Lando. I like where he's come from, his attitude, his racecraft. Sorry, not sorry.
I'm thinking along these lines more and more, too. I like Piastri's uncomplicated and calm approach, and find Norris rather irritating at times.

That said, I'd be quite pleased to see either McLaren driver as WDC.

I wondered the same

I know it's all about "keeping traditional dates " but why TF does Canada appear in the schedule in the middle of the European season ?
Italy Monaco Spain CANADA Austria Britain Belgium Hungary Netherlands etc etc .
When they are trying to cut down on travel ,it just seems silly .

Doesn't it make some sense from a logistics PoV? Teams have >1 set of pit & hospitality equipment. So the kit for Canada was perhaps last used in Miami and will move on to somewhere else (by road or sea), whilst the Spain kit will move by road to Austria? So "all" that has to move are the people, the cars, and the latest-spec spares - a relatively smaller airlift requirement.Italy Monaco Spain CANADA Austria Britain Belgium Hungary Netherlands etc etc .

That's probably a very generous and optimistic take though

What? No option to pick Stroll?!
Has one of Stroll's handful of fans just come out?

Thanks PiaP for getting the chat started.
I fear this will be a subdued weekend from Max, not putting it about with habitual strut. Donkey derby followed by box of tissues jibe last time was toxic male.
Expect McLarens to disappear up front....with Lando second.
