Hi All, I'm contemplating moving the box to behind the passenger seat. I know lots of people have done this on a chimaera and on a griff moved to the glovebox but I'm curious to know what the routing was if anyone did the behind the seat relocation on a griff.

Currently, the wiring loom goes over the top of the glovebox (behind the dash), then drops down behind the left hand vent and continues under the heater box to the back of the footwell. I'm considering a couple of routes...
1. Along the sill - Might bulge under the carpet but could be long enough
2. Reroute behind the dash and along the tunnel - Should be long enough
3. Double back behind the dash and along the tunnel - Probably not long enough

If anyone has done the move, what was the loom path that you followed and did you have to extend the loom ?

Thanks all

Have you considered relocating the battery and just dropping the fusebox down into its position as I feel its an easier job really.
On a Chim I tried the fusebox there just to see but the wiring was not quite long enough to do it properly, I would have wanted it run along the transmission tunnel top as i do not like the idea of it tucked under the carpet.
Did not want to get into extending the loom personally but if your happy to do it no problem.

Hi

Battery is already in boot. I just fancy having a footwell with the bare minimum in it and a more accessible fusebox behind the seat.

Transmission tunnel is my thinking too but a channel by the sill suitably covered in pipework would also be an option. It might look a bit st though if it bulges..

It may go in the footwell corners and not be too much of an eyesore as most will be obscured by the seats.
I have seen it done this way too.

Hi Belle,

Yeah thats exactly what I'm thinking but I'd like to know if the loom follows a different path for the Chimaera behind the dash. Maybe I need to hop in Chimaera land and see if anyone has any info/pics of the loom before it goes to the tunnel that would be useful for me.

Regards

Ian
