My PC is running slowly. I think I am going to replace it with a Windows 11 version. In the meantime, is it worth running ccleaner - the paid for version?

If it isn't already obvious, I am PC ignorant.

Absolutely zero requirement to be paying for stuff like CCleaner.

In the age of fast drivers and extremely fast CPUs, 'slowdown through crud' is massively reduced (not zero though).

Install CC (do not pay for it), then run and let it do its stuff.

Then, uninstall it, otherwise it will keep popping up like a turd that won't flush, asking you to upgrade to the free version. So the best way to shut it up is to remove it.

It's already been pointed out to you on your other thread that it's possible that you can install Windows 11 on your current PC but you haven't responded to questions. If you aren't confident of trying it yourself pay someone to do it for you; it won't cost a lot.

Apologies. The problem is that I am tech ignorant. I don't know the answers to questions. Ok I should have said so.

Go and get Malwarebytes from https://www.malwarebytes.com/

It's designed to be easy to use. Will just run and do its stuff.

Ok. I'll answer on your other thread. If you need help have a look round for people offering computer assistance - if you have a local magazine or similar they might advertise there or if you are a Silver Surfer then there are several organisations who might help.

Silver Surfer? I think that sounds right!

Which organisations are they?

Well if you just search for "silver surfer" then you'll see various people & companies who are offering these services, although of I course I don't know if they are all reliable. It's a case of finding someone local who can come round & help you:

See my answer in your other thread if you want a clean win 11 install. It is minimal but will run on practically any pc.
