one starts at at 3 the other at 4, this going to be tight on the tram to get down into town for the parade, looks as if theres going to be a compromise somewhere, 23 mins on tram I see.

Been going since 1983. Never been to the drivers parade. Been in town before but no interest in the parade.
The track walk is brilliant though. Stop for a beer at the bar on the Mulsanne. Enjoy the car show at Mulsanne. Great idea by the ACO.

One consideration for this year - major road works in the center of town this year so if considering going in to actually watch the driver's parade it's going to be crammed into a much smaller area so much more packed with people. Basically just up/down the road from the cathedral with a tiny triangle at the far end that just touches on one corner of Place de la Republic.

Of course if it's just an excuse to go in, drink some beer in a different location, and have a nice meal doesn't really make a difference🙂

It’s not just about the actual parade though - Le Mans is a proper vibe all through Friday evening and night. Crowded with locals and race goers, music , beer stalls . Well worth going in IMHO

Shame it’s late in the afternoon. It used to be in the morning. We have usually gone into town for lunch and drinks after midday.

Oh, I quite agree. Done it almost every year for 20 years and don't think we've lasted the whole parade since the route used to go down to the river/back up the hill with the drivers pushing the vintage cars - and there used to be long tables lines up to the barrier with waitress service from, I think Cafe Berlin. Shortest we've done is turn up late so no view of anything in the rain, stand there for 5 minutes before someone asks "Does anyone actually care about the parade?" - and head to a restaurant smile
