Everyone,

I know that this has been mentioned previously on different threads, but how about this - lets get a PH group together to see TG and get our members with potentially Zonda beating cars together? I know that we are asking a lot here, but the guantlet has been thrown down and we should really see what we can do..

Ok, so I have a Chimaera and I have no chance, but there are a few motors out there that should be able to beat the Zonda... Is this worth organising?

Quite prepared to organise this if anyone is willing. Anyone out there with interesting machinery that they would be willing to "give it a go?"

Cheers,

Paul

If the westfield with its 480bhp + per tonne and generally bike with two extra wheels-ish nature beats the zonda by a second only l don't have much hope for anything else.
I can see why they said "not..a...chance" to the guy with the 911 turbo who thought he could 'havvago'.

R500 might be quicker or "tuned" spec caterham will easily beat the Zonda, maybe even have a go on the XTR2...

Guy (Bluesatin) has already suggested his Ultima, and I think another PHer with a Caterham (R500?) has offered his car too.

I offered my Ultima Can-am up, has over 500BHP per ton and have already (officially) timed it quicker than the Zonda.

Sould be quicker round the twisties than the Zonda too with a 200kgs+ weight advantage.

They didn't reply though so I suspect they are looking for manufacturers and not individuals.

What about this for a project? I rekon we could shoe-horn a whopping great saxo VTS engine into this hawk!

The spoiler is far bigger than that one on the Zonda, so it should out-handle it.

Stick some Maserati badges on it, and hey presto.
(Well, it worked with the Citroen SM???)

Shouldn't cost more than a set of black valve caps from halfords either!!!!

Mistook it for a grotesque customized Audi Quattro on first sight! Isn't it amazing what some folks will do with too much time on their hands! And why?

Other than myself and Ultimandy I have heard that the Ultima Factory have sent an e-mail using one of the demo cars. This car is a lower engine spec but very well sorted and has been tested by a well known (from what I have been told) ex F1 driver. Trust me in saying this will set new records. However, the factory like others recieved no respoce from Mr JC himself. Perhaps we all arrive next time they are filming??

And in John Hayman's (road test editor from EVO) opinion when I was talking to him at Snetterton last week, the SR3 is in another league compared to the Westie. The Westie behaves like a rebodied seven (except obviously being quicker but being more difficult to catch) and the SR3 is a race car. The SR3 was more than a couple of seconds a lap quicker too.

SR3 aint road legal though. The cars for the challenge have to be road legal - and they arent taking any more entries as theyve got loads or realistic challengers already!
We were trying to get Bookatracks Project Nutter on there (Westie with Honda S2000 engine) but no luck.

Shame - as anyone who was at Folembray in September will know, that's one awesome machine..

Not standard - but there is an SVA kit in the price-list for the Supersport SR3 that makes it road-legal.

I've been chatting to Jim Dudley, Chairman of Tiger Racing. They produce the Z100WR: A 7-type with two 1200cc Kawasaki engines strapped to it. It holds the world record for road-legal 0-60 at 2.8s, and it hits 100 in 6.2s. That should beat seven shades out of the competition.

Anyhow, he's mentioned it to Top Gear, but alas, they have yet to respond. Surely its credentials as the worlds fastest production car must warrant it with a shot at the title?

Yer I was thinking about the Tiger, the one that Tiff put the rod through the side of the block.

A damn fast machine, could easily beat the zonda with it's acceleration.
