Undersealing

While getting my Goodyear F1s fitted at national tyre centre, it was recommended i get the cerb undersealed to help keep the rust/corrosion at bay.

Anyone have this done? is there anything i need to be aware of?

They mentioned it would need to be jetwashed underneath beforehand....(worries me somewhat)

Underseal acts as a shell and will keep water out, the trouble is is keeps it in aswell.

If you get a crack in it the water will just sit there and eat the chassis away.

Any suggestions on any form of treatment to help keep it at bay then?, could i get it blasted by somthing--but then again--i guess that would mean having the car stripped?

A lot of people clean off the chassis tubes and then apply waxoil. I know what I'll be doing sometime in the next few weeks....

I have just done my car and have cleaned down the chassis and painted it with grey smooth hamerite which i used on mt previous TVR and it never came off and you can also paint the brake calipers with what ever colour you want. I also painted the wheel arches with waxoil black underseal just to give it a good look and more protection, all for little cost but looks good.

Hmm doesnt this mean getting it on a ramp?

Anyone got a ramp i can borrow...... fancy an afternoon sanding and waxoiling my car....
