What's this years rules for taking beers in?
Discussion
I know it's always a bit random with the gate security - but I haven't seen anything that's totally clear for this year.
The tickets seem to show no bottles allowed inside the track limits - fair enough - but are cans of beer permitted?
With it predicted to be a warm one I reckon we may get a bit of a thirst and want to bring in a few refreshments to supplement what we buy from the official outlets. Anyone already on site there able to advise?
Thanks.

From experience it varies from steward to steward..
I've walked through a ticket check with a can of beer in hand and they've let me through, then at the next one the can is confiscated - I assume the steward was thirsty..
I think the unspoken reason is the ACO have a revenue stream (pun intended) from beer sales so they 'unofficially' instruct stewards to stop beer cans being allowed in the circuit..

I think the 'revenue stream' argument's just one for the conspiracy theorists. Occam's razor would suggest incompetence, across selection, training and monitoring of gate staff is much more likely.I've walked through a ticket check with a can of beer in hand and they've let me through, then at the next one the can is confiscated - I assume the steward was thirsty..

If I had to guess I bet 'training' is getting some of the gate staff into a big space up at Expo and someone 'doing a Trump', holding up big card with the above printout on it and shouting the rules through a distorted PA system. Those people, most of who weren't really paying attention, then pass what they remember on to people not at the meeting. As a result some who were paying attention to "no alcohol in glass containers" have no issue with you taking a can of beer in while others who just heard/were told "something about no alcohol" stop you and say "Non!".
The fact there's normally panic on the forums from people arriving in the first half of the week reporting "I was stopped taking X onto campsite Y" dies away by mid week after the rules have been clarified for the gate staff.
And if you do have an issue taking something in, just try a different gate! I ran out of camping gas and had to do a 'run' across from Bleu to the Decathlon at Tetre Rouge one year. Coming back the gate staff at East Gate were a clear "Non!"...but the guy on the gate between Houx and the circuit perfectly happy to let me through

Doesn’t show cans and everything is banned in the circuit.

I was briefly toying with the idea of going to Le Mans again next year, but this chart has reminded me why I stopped going.
No bottles in the parking areas? We used to sleep in the car for the weekend, have a little BBQ and plenty of booze (if not the bottle castles that some seemed to build over the week) in garage Rouge for 20+ years and then, one year, it was an 'Audi Guest Only' car park and we were consigned to a s
tty car park at the arse end of the circuit.
Corporatisation ruined Le Mans for me.
Oh well, looks like Imola again.
