First trip to Ireland, mid afternoonFerry from Pembroke dropped us in to Rosslare in time for dinner at the hotel on Friday evening.

Car ramp of Innisfree Ferry was pretty steep but we got our fairly low car on ok with guidance and once onboard the ferry rows very wide, like a comedy sketch it seemed they’d been extremely successful in selling everybody priority boarding…..

On arrival was quickly through the terminal, we didn’t even get passports checked, it was an easy 1 hour drive to Dunbrody Country House Hotel, huge pile on the Hook Peninsular, top notch stay, pub in grounds was fantastic for dinner and a pint, plenty of parking, huge comfortable room, snazzy hotel bar and great breakfast. Best of all was relative peanuts booked with Agoda.

Then we shot across the southern coast to Kerry area, stopping at Sheen Falls, which is truly top draw, lovely place. Booked direct for a decent DBB option - from here we’ve done Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsular and part of the Wild Atlantic Way and a mountain pass today. I’m guessing it’s similar to the NC500 in terms of how picturesque - but the roads are largely deserted and on the whole (95%) well surfaced.

Highlight was a pint at Foxy Johns Pub and Hardware Store in Dingle. Biggest surprises were draft Guinness 0.0 and how friendly everybody is, car got nothing but positive attention. Well worth a visit imho.

Glad you enjoyed some of the best of the West.
Dick Macks in Dingle is another good spot just round the corner from Foxy John's.

Did you notice any difference with the 95 E10 fuel?

Only the price of it (€1.75). Been cruising the car really.

Much easier to get car on to the Stena Line Ferry than the Irish Ferries on way back.

Been a magic trip, never had so many people, get so excited and be so positive about seeing a car.

Dingle and Ring of Kerry well worth doing.
