Hello All.

Nothing to do with me commercially - although I am booked on.

Spaces left on the UNSILENCED trackday at Donnington Park this coming July. So those who have sleeved and decatted their cars, this is a chance to get on track and use your car 'properly' without the fear of points biggrin Doesn't matter if you're 106dB or 128dB.

Details on the TVRCC website.

Whilst good for unsilenced, £400 for the day is pricey

^^^^ Yep not particularly attractive - - but where else can you get a day to run with open exhaust (if you wish!!)?

I would add, that Goodwood/whoever is running the trackday, charge around that figure now.....Silverstone is very similar, and the noise limit is probably 98dB static at both circuits.

IMHO, it's stonking value.

To be blunt. Not pricey at all. Trackdays haven't been immune to the last few years of price rises. This is a limited number of users and it is the full track.

Both those mean the bigger bill is split between fewer people.

They could have made it cheaper by adding more cars but that would lead to queuing in the pit lane waiting to go out.

I would like to suggest Anglesey, Three Sisters, Llandudno and Mallory Park be considered as venues next year as these are 'cheaper', good circuits but those complaining about price will only complain that it isn't at the end of their street.

Its 90 cars as well, so not limiting numbers

"Donington numbers are looking low, just 48 out of 90 places booked at present.

As you know this is an unsilenced track day, which we hoped would make it more appealing to some of you who can't do the noise restricted days. This does make it a substantially more expensive day."

Most cars can get down to 105db with trackday cans etc. I know a lot of circuits now limit to 100db, so this is good for no noise check, but it's costly because.

Cadwell Park in Sept is just £200, 105db

So, depending on what group you are in, you get 15 mins sighting lap, 20 mins every hour, so 3 x 20 mins before lunch, then 3 hours after lunch open pit lane

09:00-10:00 Sighting Laps led by our instructors 9:10-9:20am (Advanced), 9:25 to 9.35am (Intermediate), 9:40-9:50am (Novice)
10.00 - 13:00 - Instruction 20 minute sessions, starting with Advanced from 10am, Intermediate from 10.20am, Novice from 10.40am.
13.00 - 14:00 Break for Lunch at the onsite cafe or bring your own lunch
14:00 - 17:00 Open Pit Lane

So I applaud the efforts to get an unsilenced trackday, just suggesting the reason for not the signup expected is because of twice the price.

Applaud the efforts but just have to post up being negative because you feel / think it is expensive.

What are you expecting to achieve in doing so? Other than putting people off an event you don't want to / won't attend because your priorities / value are cost.

It's a discussion thread, so we're discussing. I don't think I'm being negative, more shocked around the prices of these trackdays now
I think it's pricey, may well book onto the Cadwell. You don't, thats fine.

Looks like its discounted for members, usual price unlimited noise is £445.
Silverstone is bloody pricey now. £629 for 102db driveby

I don't see how you got to this being a discussion about the price of trackdays.

Indeed, I'm not sure how you got to it being a discussion. It is a notice.

Again, I can't see what you're trying to achieve by being negative and the cost. Alot of work has been put in by the club to arrange this event and I'd like it to go ahead and be successful. Posting comments about how expensive it is is potentially going to put people off even considering it.

I agree that trackday prices have gone up a lot, Brands was expensive enough before these increases. This thread isn't about that though.

Its very expensive to hire race tracks running into many thousands. Imagine the cost of up keep on these circuits
Unfortunately spectator figures for race meetings are now so low organising bodies now charge race drivers anything Upto £500 or more simply to enter and that normally offers around 1 hr driving time. 20 mins practice/qualifying and 2 x20 min races so in truth trackdays are not particularly expensive considering how much time you can spend on track .

My view is if your quibbling over the entry fee then it’s simply not for you.
