S1 Catalyst fits which way???

Took off my cat to change exhaust, can anyone tell me which way it fits as it can but fitted in both directions!?

This catalyst has an alloy protective strip, whereas my friend's doesn't. I did a search but can't find any detail, found one report that S1 had problem with fires in this area.

Help!

PS. I have fitted it with the protection towards the front of the car.

It only fits one way, if you look at the flanges at either end it will make more sense.

Yep it will only fit one way so it will be on correctly they way you have it now.

Thanks Steff, that was a good link. Had just the pictures I was looking for. I was worried because the exhaust fumes did smell funny.
