Can anyone recommend a very quiet fan for the bedroom?

I mean quieter than the usual products available.

Not bothered about price.

I have an older version of this: https://www.nsauk.com/product/dual-power-stand-fan...

On lower speed settings, the one I have is almost inaudible, just a little bit of wind noise. Higher speeds it hums, but then all fans do.

Have you considered a ceiling mounted one? they tend to be quieter as the blades are larger so move more air at a slower speed. The smaller the blades, the faster they need to move to shift air, the louder they are.

You could consider a PIV system in the ceiling.

It may be quieter to get what you want by adding some actual fresh air than stirring the stale air around?

Or even get the room cool with aircon, then turn it off to sleep?

What’s the fan trying to achieve? Background ventilation or are you trying to cure a damp/mould issue?

Is there access above the ceiling to install a fan, run ducting and ventilate through the roof/soffit?

How big is the room?

The slowest speed still seems to shift a decent amount of air while also being very quiet.

I had a 25 year old Panasonic table-top fan which was great - pretty quiet, certainly enough on the low setting to sleep with it on. It feels like it was designed for UK voltage and any similar design fans I bought were intended for 110V and ran much faster - and therefore more noisily - on the lowest settting.

After googling quiet fans when the Panasonic finally died I ended up buying a Duux: https://duux.co.uk/product/whisper-flex-smart-fan-...
It's quite plasticcy so doesn't feel as premium as a nice metal table-top fan but it is really quiet. I haven't bothered putting batteries in the remote control or connecting it to my phone - that all seems unnecessary for a fan which is basically left running all the time. The control on the fan is awkward though, like a bad iDrive implementation with a twist knob that you have to press in to select. But that doesn't really matter; it's quiet and that's great. Seems to still be quiet after having it running since last August, so the bearings must be pretty decent.

The biggest ceiling fan you can. We have one in the living room and it just gently spins away making a nice breeze without making a sound.

I think for slow moving air and quietness, it's hard to beat a punkah wallah.

This.

Standard i all hot countries, and having done a year living in India, can vouch that for sleeping under they work at least as well as aircon.

I was actually wondering if such a large fan existed, but with the blades vertically, if that makes sense?

Like those air conditioning "blades" in films.

What kind of fan are you envisaging? Everyone else is thinking typical cooling fans

im going to be the annoying person, but last year i had air conditioning fitted to the house and its totally worth it. no more summers getting half a nights sleep and they are quiet enough to get the job done. for a grand or two, depending on what you have done, its small money for such a big increase in quality of life in my opinion.
