Myself and my old Irish mate used to have a laugh arriving at race circuits recounting the number of breakdowns spotted on our separate journeys for the weekends activities back in the early 2000s, we called it Breakdown Bingo. A laugh at the misfortune of Rovers finest, bonus points for causing chaos, infernos etc.

Been noticing an awful lot of motorway breakdowns lately, perhaps we could revive the game. Wet belt fords, ingeniums, & n57s seem to be overtaking the number of Vauxhall's at the side of the road. No idea why Vauxhall's finest feature so much considering numbers on the road? And the number of breakdowns with no hazards on!

Yesterday evenings tally, bear in mind my route is mostly deserted m6/m74 into Scotland

Preston-Home 277m
21 breakdowns counted
13.19 miles per breakdown

Perhaps we should have a PH breakdown bingo too...

My PH browser bookmark is to the "What's New" page. When I first load the page I always note that a percentage of topics are about car problems and almost all of these would relate to TVRs, but recently these are now about 50% TVR and 50% Alpine!

Really? I've just looked and there is one about a Ford Kuga problem and none about TVR or Alpine...

Do provide a link to a recent thread about a breakdown for either, I'm intrigued that you're looking at a different forum than me...

More problems than outright breakdowns and, obviously, on any given day there might be more or fewer examples, but over the years it has struck me how TVR were the usual suspect and now it's TVR and Alpine.

From my observations, kids having a pee are equal to breakdown numbers.

Most breakdowns I see are flat tyres and likely a car with no spare wheel.
Just that tyre gel/can of hope nonsense.

The challenge still stands - recent thread about a problem with either...

I played this recently on a trip from Somerset to York......The biggest overall winner? Range Rover by a large margin.

Some the the rescue companies won’t use the can of foam supplied with many new cars, so will just transport you home ( presumably at great cost to them).

You've entirely missed the point I was making... and also come up with the same old tomfoolery you always do, as that is not the current Which reliability survey for the Alpine and you've either made it up, or its so old as to be unrepresentative.

RE Why Vauxhall's - because people buying the cheapest car they can are also more likely to not maintain them....

This is what I see as well - haven't totted up the numbers. So maybe more pothole related / people not checking their tyre pressures on a regular basis, rather than manufacturer specific faults.

Most of my breakdowns are daft red herrings that can be reset with the obd reader in the glove box

I keep one in each car

I’ve not had a breakdown in years that isn’t a daft sensor issue

One summer on a trip from Kent to Cornwall via the M3/A303, I counted 8 of those VW surfer dude type camper vans (T2?)on the side of the road, all seemingly overheated.
