Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction for finding the fault with my passenger side window electrical circuit fault. Window stopped going up or down.

Swapped switches, still doesn't work, check motor and it works directly wired to battery. There are 12v to the switch, there are 12v to the motor, however the switching of polarity from the switch is not being seen at the motor.

It doesn't appear to be wired into any relays, and still have 12v so not a blown fuse.

I also have the same problem with my other V8S, which i bought a new motor for, and still didn't fix the problem.

Anyone have a wiring diagram of how these power windows were wired up?

And/or advice on where to look? There seems to be a ridiculous amount of wired going to one switch to operate the window!

Favourite candidate is the wiring that leads through the door closure. You can check by using a continuity tester between each of the two coloured wires on the window motor and the corresponding colour on the switch. Not easy.

If you can identify a broken wire, you can lead a new wire through the harness and connect both ends. Again not easy, but a pretty routine bit of auto electrics.

Good luck!

You may find this useful?
It incudes a useful mod to wire in some relays so main power doesn't go through the old switches and wiring connectors.

Have you looked into that circuit? It takes the load off one terminal of the switch but still leaves the other three carrying the full load. I suppose it'll fix the problem if that particular contact has failed, but to take the load off the switch properly it really needs a double pole double throw relay, or equivalent.
