Hi guys, this is my fix for the gas cover but it's momentary only, because often it's blocked and I need a credit card to insert and open the trunk to pull the lock...last time I did it at 3 am at gas station and the cops were looking at me.... So I did that maybe 8 times over 9 years. Don't want reorder cover repaint it etc....

If any of you know a better fix.....its 2 piece of shipping box overnight over there....

Mine has stuck a couple of times in 3 years. As it's at a filling station I ask a passer-by to press the release button while I prise open the flap. When I get home I give it a jiggle and spray some WD40 under the springy bit and then it works again.

Just change the spring, it’s cheap and very easy to do, don’t waste your time with temporary fixes, it should pop up with quite a bit of force!

Xmark.
It's due to the cover being bended when they touch it with the gun....if I try to redress it it won't even fits...the spring is fine. I put some lithium grease just now
Here in this country.at Most gas station you must wait the attendant to do it for you....and then they messed it out

Have you tried flap alignment ? It’s quite easy to adjust, two torx screws (T30 I think) and twist it straight. The spring will be much weaker than it should be though if it s original,it happens to all of them, I was shocked at how strong a new one is.

Yes as you can guess it's elongated and touch the border.
If I remove it I may need to compress the bracket so it fits....I m concerned doing it but will see.

No surprise when you remove the two screws,
Ok then I will look at replacing the spring no idea where it's....I got an issue with the carpet trunk and gasket not holding well and I have sticken some of the carpet there ...

Yes, normal oil would probably be better, if you can get it to where it needs to be.

Look guys the bulb floating again. They added so much glue now I will need to remove all to have a fit....but look at the carpet too. It's right at the seal junction but it doesn't go underneath the seal it's too short.....

They may have pinched the cables from bulb so it stay up there and can't even fall down well, like it's too short to fit, i m pushing it a bit now but when left it doesnt touch the carpet

Sorry I mix things but I wanted to ask you if your AML dealer does that too. At each service they threw some gas injector cleaner while am warranty told me to never do this. What will be the outcome after 6 or more services with injector cleaner threw in?

Yep, I have that too in places. I think that once the seal comes off for something, it never goes back quite the same.
