Hi,

I have a family member who lives alone, is independent, but is a bit infirm. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent system where I could put a SOS button in the bathroom and toilet etc.. so if they had an issue they don’t need to have a phone with them. We’re only 5 mins away - I spose if we didn’t pick up, a call to emergency services would be useful!

Lots of stuff out there - but wondering if anyone has any good recommendations!!

Thank you.

Could an Apple watch be a solution here? Some have 4G so don't need wifi. Looking at getting one for my father for this very reason.

FIL used Tunstall Lifeline. Worked perfectly - their call centre could talk to him wherever he’d fallen over in the house and made sure someone responded.

I'm in a similar situation with a relative, and have looked at the Apple watch, but it's just too complicated for what it's needed for.

Currently looking at alternatives, but would suggest something he can wear on his wrist, or on a lanyard, rather than restricting it to a couple of buttons in rooms. There seems to be a few options, all around the £20 a month mark.

I'd be looking at something like this.

I know there should be ways to do this using newer and cheaper tech and I don't mean this to sound the way I fear it might but for the sake of a few quid a month I think I'd want something that is known to "just work" and is proven.
