Measured by depreciation- a lot faster.

On track, or on the road?

I'd suspect the GT2 would be faster in all circumstances given a sufficiently talented driver.

Depends on driver, agree with Dan.

GT2 on paper much quicker in all areas, slightly heavier but more than compensated by engine. Harder to drive because of more sudden power delivery.

In the wet mmmmmmm prefer not to think about it

I've had both... and a GT3RS... and the answer is the GT2 is faster in every situation.... but it is always trying to kill you in a nice way where as the '3's are looking out for you and helping you.....

So which is the better car in your opinion? The GT2 or the GT3RS?

Well IMHO I find the GT2 a much more challenging car to drive had, but much more rewarding once you get it right.

The GT2 out of the box though I must admit had handling challenges where it was set for safe understeer but had enough power to push through straight into a spin, with some tweeks to camber and caster is feels much more like the RS (same steering feel now) and will slide rather than spin.

If I was on a circuit I didn't know and was only going to be there for half a day I'd want an RS, if it's somewhere I know or have time to play then I'd go for the GT2. Very similar but very different cars and a tough choice. Thing that sold it for me at the end is you just can't beat the feeling of a GT2 properly hooked up round a corning and shooting out the other end....

hi guys,
i would say that my personal opinion is that i would go for the GT3, my friends parents hired Mallory Park 2 weeks ago and took some of there collection of cars!
(GT2,GT3,Carrera GT,Ferrari 575,Lambo Merci Roadster and a very rare Mercedes CLK DTM + some friends Brought a Bentley Continental GT Coupe, Aston DB9 and an Audi tt)but the GT3 was my weapon for most of the day and it is the car that has converted me from having a hate for all things porsche to loving them and making me wanting to own one over a ferrari, that coming from a ferrari fan of nearly 20 years.

I have owned and tracked both extensively. In fact, I drove both at the track today. the 3 is MUCH more user freindly at the track and i believe it is a much better car all the way around. however, if i was going to have just one for the street i would choose the 2 since it it So fast in a straight line it is a serious rush. I dont like the suspension set up on the 2 as it has progressive springs which make you have to really anticipate the transition in each corner well ahead, or else. the torque is unreal though and in a straight line it is awesome. maybe with motons or ohlins i would fell diffrently, but the extra weight of the turbos in the rear is really very noticible in turns. good luck!

I have owned GT2's aswell as GT3 mk2's and GT3RS's (never a mk1 though) and for my money the RS is the one to have. For outright accelerative grunt the GT2 is unsurpassed.Try accelerating through the midrange in one on a motorway and it's an incredible surging feeling but I hated it on the track whilst the GT3 is far better balanced and useable in more situations. The GT3 is so,so good on track, giving you the confidence to push on whilst still being worthy of respect, particularly in the wet.Traction is incredible. The RS is the best of the lot though,a very special machine, and I mean on the road too.

The 3 is more useable in adverse weather conditions, much more linear accelaration and is probably the better car, definately more forgiving and predicatble on the track, however my faith still lyes with the GT2 as it has a certain mentalness about it which i like. Possibly not as useable around a track or the road but still comes out on top for me!

The massive torque of the GT2 engine causes too many problems for it's chasis to deploy the power and as such is track compromised. The ring suits cars with higher power but even here it is almost indentical in lap time to a GT3 RS. It takes an extremely good driver to keep a GT2 near a gt3 on a race track. The GT2 is probably a better road car..... if you have diplomatic immunity, if not you won't keep your licence long enough to enjoy it..
