Dress Watch up to £2000.

Ive decided to treat myself to a nice watch. Ive always liked automatic watches. But I m unsure of what brand to get? Or whether to look at used on Watch Finder. Any help would be great.

For me, for this budget it would be Oris or Mondaine. Both make some lovely watches, particularly the latter.

Slightly over thread budget but reckon you could negotiate down to within without too much trouble.

If you don’t mind pre owned how about a Heuer Monaco?

You might just scrape into a CS2111, my favourite one. Had one, sold it as fancied a change, regret it now.

If you're willing to go used and you want a quality auto movement, I'd have a look at something like a Zenith Elite!

In the spirit of recommend what you have. These are my dress watches:

Oris Artelier. This is an old John Coltrane special edition. They still make plenty of watches in this style. It’s pretty thin and nice at 38mm.



Seiko Cocktail Time. This is the old JDM model (SARB065) but they make a host of versions these days in their Presage line. Thicker than the Oris and 40mm. I love this watch.

The question is, what is your idea of a dress watch?
Mine is simple, small, slim, gold and leather strap for high days /holidays.
Something like this (but not in your budget)


so if its a high days and holidays type watch go vintage (ie 70’s and earlier) plenty of beautiful Omega’s, JLC etc to choose from well within £2000
