Surprised no one has started this up. Or if they have I missed it.

Watched the Bayern and PSG games last night, both weird games for different reasons.

What a joke having part time teams in vs European heavyweights. Just makes a mockery. The pundits before the game were saying how its great that Auckland have a chance to play them and maybe cause an upset to try make it sound like it was going to be a good game. At halftime their opinion had changed to oooh lets hope we see more goals and a record broken. Pathetic.

PSG game, the officiating was atrocious. Loads of missed decisions. AM imploded when they had the goal at 2-1 chalked off and that Norwegian guy missed an open goal. But again more evidence that PSG are proper wobbly at the back when teams get at them, just as Villa showed, direct play undoes them easily.

I think I might watch some of the bigger names playing each other, but games like the Bayern one, not worth it, pointless and a waste of 2 hours.

It's a tin pot competition with little interest for anyone outside of the small number of teams playing in it.

Lots of money on offer so worth winning if involved, but as a spectacle it appears to primarily for audiences in the USA and Middle East.

Far more interested in the U21 Euros personally.

Funny that everyone claims that players are overplayed, that they need longer breaks, even managers and owners saying it, and yet when $100m is on the line, all those concerns and worries suddenly go away and everyone wants in...

I thought it was worth starting up ... just to laugh at it

A bit like the Saudi league attempting to be really good by having a load of massively overpaid 30+ year old players on the down slope of their careers!

The crowd at the Chelsea games says it all.

There has been far bigger crowds at preseason friendlies in the USA. The game is also being played in a city that has a lot of football fans attending.

It's rather embarrassing.

Another game stopped due to adverse weather, so its 30 minutes since the last thunder before it can restart, game bring played in New Jersey.

So that's 3 or 4 games so far.

The game tonight wasn't bad.

Next week should be better with PSG vs Bayern.

Yes a bit of jeopardy finally in the knockout games.

But what a farce this tournament is, empty stadiums (even though FIFA have been giving tickets away), weather causing unheard of issues with the matches in terms of delays, teams that are utter ste getting humped.

And we have to put up with commentators being told by the broadcaster to say things like 'by the end of this tournament we will see crowned the best team in the world' ... err no we wont.

So we have had to listen to clubs moaning all season about player welfare and congested fixture list, they could have easily left a load of big name players at home and put an U-23s team out, but when they saw the Saudi $ of course player welfare just becomes something that is quickly dispensed with.

But PSG lost to Botofago ;-)

I actually would have liked to see Barcelona in it against PSG, I think their style would get at the PSG back line which we know is pretty weak once you are past their midfield.

There's a couple of elements of this competition thats bit of a farce...... mainly related to having it hosted in the US, but I'm beginning to think it may have legs. There's actually been some decent games. Some cracking match ups to come. PSG - Bayern, Real - Juve. No shortage of action in the KOs so far.

Maybe the big boys haven't taken it too seriously so far, but you can see that changing the closer they get to the final,

Quite funny City getting knocked out.
But yes, there was no point having 32 teams nearly half of which were just cannon fodder and a waste of time.
Skip straight to the last 16 or last 8.
And yes, wrong time of year, wrong location, but hey FIFA have form in being dumb as fk in terms of actually organising a football event.

Was hoping they'd atleast get to the final so they'd get no break before the new season starts.

Shame, but also rofl
