To elaborate on the title.
Bought a nice, low milage 1160cc bike, 2 owners from new, with history etc.
Inspected the bike, broadly what i expected for a bike that had barely any milage and shoved in a garage.

The bike didn’t have an MOT and the seller advertised that it would come with an MOT. Fine.

Now of course sold as seen… this was written down on the day of purchase.
Rode home. Stopped off at a friends to show him the bike, used the rear brake upon leaving and the rear caliper rode up and into the swing arm. It only had one bolt in the carrier fixing it to the swing arm. It had marked the swing arm and the carrier had dug into the rear disc.
Now I did not believe the seller was trying to hide issues with the bike, my own opinion is that they are a bit st at reassembly after removing the side mounted number plate…. Or had a ‘cant be arsed’ attitude to fitting old parts back on the bike for sale.
But after removing the pillon seat this evening… more bolts missing… and its starting to worry me.
I took to much comfort perhaps in that the MOT which was carried out a day before would have found an issue with the brake?!

I of course know that when you buy privately you are potentially making an expensive mistake however if i had used the rear brake at 60mph it could have been fatal.
Thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd go over the whole bike and check everything is where it should be and all the fasteners are present and correct.
Then I'd send an email to the seller to let him know that there are a few things missing and to ask if he was aware and if he still had the missing items.

Yeah it's your bike now, go over all the accessible bolts and screws tapping them to see if any are loose, wont take that long on a bike.
