How did it go at the weekend with the ticketing app for race goer's
we’re off to Le Classic and I have to “allocate” tickets to those in the group even less tech savvy than me, am I correct in assuming that once the ticket is transferred and residing in the app there is no need for internet connectivity? thanks Tony

As said, it wasn’t perfect but was a heck of a lot better than expected. Fair play.
On Friday afternoon, when we first entered the track from parking ouest, security was very tight with all pockets being turned, bags searched, and wands in use… by Sat morning, that had been massively diluted

All good, the App worked well, we ensured there was a power pack on hand, but no issue as it went in with the camera kit. Made sure all phones had full charge for the Friday track experience. Only issue was a wait to get back into the closed section at the end of Tertre Rouge due to a scanner/signal issue, but no big deal.
The ACO chip wristbands worked very well for our group, the girl issuing them made sure they weren t too tight. The club areas didn t appear over busy this year, all good
There was apparently a problem with some wristbands issued from the George Durand reception area, a chap in front of us needed to have a band re-issued at La Chapelle, again didn t appear a big problem.
All in all the new processes seemed to work well.
We did think though that there were less people this year and definitely not as crowded as last year.

Were all ACO members entitled the gold wrist bands and what was the benefit of these? The ACO chip wristbands worked very well for our group, the girl issuing them made sure they weren t too tight. The club areas didn t appear over busy this year, all good

You had to pay extra for them and they sold out before the event. Basically gave you access to the couple of members areas. Definitely worth it in my opinion. We didn't bother with grandstand seats this year as last year we only used them once and were in the ACO areas the rest of the time. Well, it certainly wasn’t the goodie bag, which was a bit meanly stocked this year I thought.
Savings on GA tickets and slightly cheaper catering I guess, and the food I had was reasonable. Didn’t spend long in ACO areas but, on balance, like supporting the club and likely will renew for next year.

We did not have the app but printed tickets. But now understand why people were getting phones out, "paper tickets" out or showing a smart watch or a wrist band to the scanners,
We left the circuit at about 1am after the fireworks, and watching a bit more of the race and it was carnage at the main entrance next to the museum, with people trying to leave and the scanners not working well at all. It became a crush point and when an ambulance tried to get to the tunnel under the track it couldn't!
This had potential disaster written all over it!

I did buy a power bank for our phones just in case though.
There are basically two levels of ACO membership now. Basic one, which would mean you’d have to buy the access to the club areas and any guest. The is also the option where the club access is included and you’d still buy extra for any guests.
We had ACO stand this year so I didn’t bother with the ‘receptif’ option for my dad. You get into the club area of the stand anyway. We wouldn’t have made a special trip to the Chapelle one for the sake of it.
I only went to the other area to collect the bag with programme bits.
