Getrag 7dcl750 gearbox weep hole leak (AMG GTS)
Discussion
So after travelling to le man this year I noticed on the ferry a substantial amount of oil leaking out of the gearbox.
After endless amounts of research I have concluded this to be a common fault where a seal perishes and causes oil to leak of the weep hole.
I believe mercedes do not fix this their solution is a new gearbox (can anyone confirm this)
Does anyone know places that can fix this, this is a very specialist job and only a handful of places have the correct tools and knowledge to complete the fix.
Another question is whilst getting the seals replaced would you replace any other parts whilst its all stripped down, I believe the speed sensor is also another part to potentially fail.
These gearboxes are also in the amg SLS ,ford GT and a few Ferrari platforms.
The car is still stuck a Dover awaiting recovery. Any more information or contacts that could help would be greatly appreciated

Of what I believe there are around 3 people in the UK can can carry out this work.
2 places down south
1 Place up north
All of these places have a very long wait time circa 1 to 2 months.
I have gone to the place up north as it is closest to me, so the car is there.
My car is next in line for the rebuild only one of their technicians can carry out this work.
Mine will be the 2nd AMG GTS they have done however they have done plenty of the 7DCL750 gearboxes on a range of the Ferraris and have carried out all aspects of box repairs on these, SAP repair, CCP Repair, wheel hole seal, servicing ect ect.
The guys there seem to be great, they had a lot of time to discuss and explain things and the process. They seem very knowledgeable
Everything seems very positive, as for the workman ship I can not really comment. However, looking around their workshop, everything is clean and tidy, all nuts and bolts are bag up, labelled and tied to their corresponding parts. Part trolleys are neatly organised for each car and everything that needs to be gets protected.
Time will tell, I hope to be getting the call in the next week or 2 for collection, ill keep you posted
