Changed Mileage on A Car I Bought
Discussion
So yes I bought the car about 5 years ago and it was at 120,000 I think I ve put about 25,000 miles on but then a little while ago i plugged in an OBD and there was an extra 100,000 miles reading in the read out of the car, so 245,000 miles, not 145,000. First of all how could that be done and why does it show up in the OBD software? At the time I thought oh man I got ripped off oh well it was years ago I can t do anything now but just recently found out that I can still do something about this as there is no statute of limitations on this fraud but it was bought from a private seller so I m wondering if anyone has experience with this. I can get the information on the car and this guy from the DVLA and the DVSA right? Like his current address since this is a crime, fraud, and then sue him for the money I paid for the car and he can have it back? Is that how it works?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

If you hadn’t checked mileage via OBD port and then sold the car showing 145,000 miles do you think the buyer would be able to come back to you 5 years later and be entitled to all the money back? Thanks in advance.

Does it show up on the MOT history as being clocked at any stage?

None of this makes sense, you think this, you think that. Why not state the actual mileage now? What does the MoT history show etc. Thanks in advance.

Not if I wasn’t the person who fraudulently changed the mileage. Of course not. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
