Robinson Crusoe
Discussion
I spent the last couple of days at work listening to this as an audiobook, read fittingly by a Yorkshireman, Simon Vance. Good, and free on Audible.
Interested to hear discussion about it, there isn't apparently any on PH.
For my part I think Crusoe is largely the baddie we are meant to like.
Many of his decisions are terrible.
Being warned off seafaring but still cracking on despite him being the curse?
Bad (for us, but at the time acceptable?) views on different people, to the extent that even then, must have been negative?
General arrogant git?
I found myself struggling and wishing for the wolves. All 300 of them (completely sane pack size), defeated by so few of course.
I'd like to hear what themes and thoughts others have come to, or discussed, from reading this book!
