Import Duty for tickets to a gig in Germany

I purchased tickets to a concert in Germany from a German ticket agent They have posted them to my UK address and I have been changed import duty , is this correct as the concert is not in the Uk . I cannot find anything on the GOV website

Thank Brexit for these anomalies. I had to pay duty on a birthday card from my daughter. It was correctly stamped and customs stickered but still incurred a 15 EUR admin fee.

There are folk here that claim they can make the admin work, but not in my experience.

You'd probably have been ok if it had been an eTicket, and presumably the seller should not have charged local sales tax as it was for export. not that either of those things help you now
