After a blast of Toto's IV album, I picked out Sting's 'Nothing Like The Sun' to play this afternoon. In full appreciation mode, I pulled out the inlay card and hard a read of the inspiration behind each track.

As much as I enjoy the ease of accessibility as well as the convenience with Spotify (and this is a very recent change in my admission) I do like to have more of a connection with music and the artists. Having a sound system that takes up a big part of the room it's in (which is mostly the floor-standing speakers) is a very significant part of it, recreating the sound as close to how it was intended. Reading the notes written by Sting, for me, is very much part of a wider immersive experience. Spotify does not do that; I have to go online and connect in a different way. Years ago, once or twice a day I would head to Slough Record Centre and spend a few hours listening to new releases and talking to someone behind the counter, mainly Terry - the Fulham fan - if he was in. I do miss that part of music.

What other albums are there with insights like the Nothing Like The Sun Album?

Took our sub- mixer down to Air London which was then getting shipped to Air Montserrat with John Neve, Rupert’s son. Met up with Rupert at Air, he had a last check everything was good. The Sub-mixer was going in Air Montserrat’s new SSL 4000 console that had replaced the Air Montserrat Neve console that Rupert had built (as seen in the Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic video)
First album recorded through it was Boy George’s Sold and the nSting’s Nothing Like The Sun.
Here’s Sting behind our blue sub- mixer part of the console.
