Holiday book recommendations

Morning everyone

We are going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I am facing a 5 hour flight. I want to find a book or 2 to see me through the flights and my holiday.

I love books that have some fun in them. I have read and really rated all the Robert Hoon books by JD Kirk. I have also read all the Bunny McGary books by Caimh McDonnell who is probably my favourite author at the moment. Can anyone recommend anything similar I might enjoy?

One of the best holiday books I ever read was The Magus by John Fowles. It's largely set in Greece, so that also puts you in a holiday mood.
