It seems very odd that the wiring is partially run in the open up the B pillar. Before I re route it can I just confirm there isn't some reason I am missing? Thanks David

Should be some sleeving over it.

or even the plastic split conduit so you don't have to undo or cut the wire

Hi. Mine had a flexible plastic corrugated protective cover but have since replaced with the expanded mesh cable sleeve as suggested above

Thanks for the responses. So it is normally sleeved, but why isn't it inside the pillar, which would be easy to do and look much neater?

It needs room to move when top is lowered without kinking the wires which would break eventually.

I'm glad this thread popped up. I'd always thought my car had some kind of bodged repair with the cables showing. They've now been treated to some ducting/cover.
